Corrective Haircolor
There are various advanced services we offer at SALON 340 to restore improperly colored hair to a more natural, healthier appearance. On over-processed, highlighted clients we often foil in natural, deeper tones throughout over-lightened hair. We may use a single process color application to even out various shades of color. Color balancing removes unwanted tones restoring the natural hair color. If a client‘s hair has been colored in any way, resulting in an unnatural look which is unflattering to the client, we can restore it to a more beautiful look.
Permanent haircolor
Permanent haircolor will not fade or wash out. The “natural“ haircolor pigments are chemically altered. Permanent color pigments penetrate the cuticle (the outer layer of the hair shaft) and color molecules are deposited into the cortex of the hair in one step. This process is the best choice for total gray coverage. Hair feels fuller and has more body following this process making it an excellent choice for fine hair clients. A wide range of custom blended colors gives you perfect results. Generally clients using this method require touch ups in 4-6 weeks. Our color does NOT fade, therefore only the "new growth“ at the scalp is treated during a color retouch. A client wanting to lighten her haircolor more than 3-4 levels would require a two step process known as  “double process blonding”.

Dimensional Haircolor Techniques

Corrective Haircolor
Semi-permanent haircolor is generally a more “cosmetic“ approach to haircolor. This process can accentuate a beautiful hair design and make a nice change to your appearance. It will add tone, depth and richness to the hair along with excellent shine and manageability. It is the perfect way to eliminate “off tones," even out faded color,   restoring hair to a healthier appearance. Semi permanent hair color is not recommended for total gray coverage but will blend away gray in a manner that looks like natural highlights. Semi permanent color will gently wash away in about 4-6 weeks. No obvious “roots” will appear with this application.
Semi-Permanent Haircolor
Demi Permanent Haircolor Demi-permanent haircolor is the perfect choice for younger clients who want to experience haircolor and desire only a slight change in the tone of their hair. Demi-permanent haircolor is a deposit. Only color containing no developer or peroxide and takes about 15 minutes to apply. It will wash out of virgin hair in two to three shampoos.
Foil highlighting is a specialty at SALON 340! Mastering this art takes years of dedication to achieve perfect results. There are several factors to consider when creating a perfect head of highlights. First we determine the level or “lightness” of the color we will be  weaving into the hair. Proper color selection is essential and based on the  level and tonal value of the hair we are highlighting. Next is the quantity, the amount of foil packets and weave technique we choose. Artistically, we decide upon how much of the light color we want to see and the effect it will have on the design. Various techniques like slicing, medium or fine weaving and chunking create the highlight effect we desire. Finally, we carefully decide upon the placement of color. Where the highlights are placed in the hair is essential and we consider how to best accentuate a beautiful hair design.
Foil Highlighting
Foil ReTouch Our approach to retouching a foil highlighting is unsurpassed and ensures you will always have the beautiful, highlighted hair you started with without damage and over processing. Our precision application weaves out the exact same previously lightened strands and our blonding product is applied ONLY to the hair at the scalp up to the line of demarcation. This method ensures that the re-growth area blends perfectly into the previously lightened color. We always maintain the same ratio of blonde by weaving the exact same selected hair strands. Foil Low lighting Foil low lighting is a beautiful service on clients with a darker hair color. Again, our exceptional foil technique imparts tones such as caramel, honey and ginger for a subtle contrast and minimal regrowth. Too light a color can look artificial and is not as flattering on woman with darker hair color. This technique gives a warm, delicate glow throughout the hair as it reflects the light.
Blonde Reduction Blonde reduction is a corrective service performed at SALON 340 offering beautiful result for the client. If foil retouches have NOT been done properly,  the client will see more and more blond and will eventually require a corrective procedure, either a total hair coloring or a blonde reduction.  Over foiled hair becomes very unnatural in appearance and requires extensive maintenance because the new growth at the root contrasts too greatly to the amount of blonde highlights. Hair which has been over treated becomes dry and damaged. It is essential for the colorist to perform a foil retouch ONLY on the area of new growth at the scalp. We correct this situation by carefully selecting strands and actually weaving in the  “natural color".  By introducing the client's natural, or tinted color back into the hair we reduce the need for frequent salon visits and minimize the artificial appearance.
Gray Reduction Gray reduction is perfect for clients with “salt and pepper” hair who want to achieve a more youthful appearance without wanting total gray coverage on their hair. This technique generally uses a foil application. Permanent haircolor, carefully selected to blend with the virgin color, is sliced or woven into the hair, minimizing the amount of gray. There is no obvious regrowth and the applied color gracefully grows out in 2-3 months.
Double Process Blonding Double process blonding is for clients who dare to be different and desire a dramatic change to their natural color. When lightening hair more than 3-4 levels we first apply a decolorizing product to remove the existing color pigments. When we remove color from the hair it passes through several stages of lightening. When the proper degree of lightness is achieved, the hair is shampooed and the secondary deposit only color product is applied to either add or subtract to the tone and refine the hair color.
